1Spatial Cloud

The 1Spatial Cloud platform has been designed to make the management of spatial big data accessible to everyone, irrespective of budget or technical knowledge.

By providing easy to use businesses applications in the cloud, we are able to provide you with our most up to date product functionality that meets your specific data needs, but without the price tag of an on-premise solution.

Benefits of using 1Spatial Cloud:

  • Zero cost of ownership – Because we cover all the costs of hosting, running and maintaining the software being used, there is no cost of ownership to you.
  • Easy to use – With the highly user-friendly interface, the learning curve is almost non-existent, reducing cost and enabling you to get value from the applications immediately.
  • Scalability without the cost – We provide a truly scalable environment, which means you don’t have the cost of increasing hardware, software or bandwidth as your utilisation increases.
  • Zero infrastructure – As the infrastructure is located in the cloud and hosted by us rather than yourselves, your infrastructure requirement for the service is zero.

Best of all, we can rapidly deploy new applications specifically created to meet your data quality issue.

Validation App

Our first application on the 1Spatial Cloud platform is completely free for you to use!

The Validation App enables you to quickly and easily load your spatial data into our secure cloud-based platform and choose from a range of pre-defined rules to validate your data against. You will then receive in a matter of seconds:

  • A quantitative analysis of your data against each of the rules you have selected
  • A download file in SHP or TAB that is ready to load into your local GIS application so that you can visualise exactly where any errors are located.

The three rules available to use within the Validation App are:

  • Essential Geometric Checks: A set of rules to check the geometric integrity of point, line and polygon features
  • Network Checks: A set of network rules to check the connectivity of line features within a network (e.g. road, utility)
  • Polygon Checks: A set of rules to check the formation of inner and outer rings in polygon features.

There are no plug-ins, no installations and no hidden charges.
Why not join the growing number of companies saving substantial time and money.

Sample Data

Why not get started straight away and download some sample data in Shape or Tab format ready to run through the Validation App.

How to use

It is easy to get your spatial data checked using the Validation App. Simply zip up your TAB or SHP data as follows:

  • The zip file must be less than 5Mb in size
  • The spatial data within the zip file must be spatially referenced. If uploading SHP data, then the zip file must contain a .prj file (the coordinate system and projection information) for each uploaded layer
  • Multiple feature layers can be contained within a single zip file, but the data must be in either TAB or SHP format (not a mixture of both)
  • If multiple layers are contained in the zip, all feature layers must use the same spatial reference
  • The spatial data should be located at the root level of the zip file, not contained in folders within the zip.

FAQs »

Once you have your zip file ready and have logged into the system, you simply follow the 4 simple steps to validation.

  • 1). Upload the zip file
  • 2). Drag the rules from the Available Rules section and drop them into the Validation Details section.
  • 3). Click on the Validate Data button.
  • 4). After successful data validation, the results will be displayed within the interface. A report is then available for download in the same format as the input data (e.g. TAB or SHP). The validation report can be viewed along with the input data in an appropriate viewer to identify the location of non-conforming features.
  • It really is as simple as that

How secure is my data when using 1Spatial Cloud?

Security is naturally the number one priority for anyone handling and working with data. We take the issue of security very seriously and have therefore put into place a truly trusted, secure cloud environment, which ensures your data is kept safe.

Below is an overview of the security steps in place to protect your data when using any of our cloud applications:

  • When accessing 1Spatial Cloud you will be doing so via a secure, trusted URL (HTTPS) fully installed with a digital certificate issued by GeoTrust
  • The certificate signature value is 256 bytes long and the certificate signature algorithm is "SHA-1 with RSA Encryption"
  • Data is only held within the cloud platform for the duration of processing
  • Data is uploaded securely to the cloud platform using SSL HTTPS
  • 1Spatial Cloud is hosted in a Tier 3 data centre at Canary Wharf - other customers of this data centre include banks and financial services
  • Once a session has completed and the results are displayed, uploaded data is completely removed from the platform. You can therefore be confident that once your session has completed, your data is no longer stored anywhere outside your own environment.

If you would like any additional information about security or have any questions, please get in touch with us by emailing info@1spatial.com
